Records daily transactions regarding Place's tailoring activities from 1823 to 1834, including making coats, pantaloons, and suit clothes; repairing pants; and cutting coats, vests, and capes. In addition, Place sold sewing supplies, particularly cloth, silk, and thread. In the beginning of the volume, Place noted that Isaac N. Haines began work for him for five years at $35 a year.
